A part of <a href=\"http:\/\/google.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google.org<\/a>\u2019s AI Opportunity Fund, the two brands will offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/goodwill-and-google-offer-free-ai-essentials-training-in-north-america-302517781.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google\u2019s AI Essentials<\/a> course for free in the U.S. and Canada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-google-s-ai-essentials-course\"><strong>What is Google\u2019s AI Essentials course?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The self-paced course is focused on foundational AI skills. Estimated to take about <a href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/9884d2c5656f4084923917f373a4b0f0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">six hours<\/a> to complete, Google\u2019s AI Essentials is broken down into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coursera.org\/google-specializations\/ai-essentials-gwg?action=enroll&amp;gwg_campaign_id=undefined&amp;gwg_exp=null&amp;utm_campaign=sou--direct__med--none-direct__cam--gwgsite__con--null__ter--null&amp;utm_medium=institutions&amp;utm_source=google\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">five sections<\/a>: a basic introduction to AI, increasing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.success.com\/how-your-company-can-use-ai-productively\/\">productivity with AI<\/a>, the best ways to prompt AI, reminders on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.success.com\/ai-decision-making\/\">AI responsibility<\/a> and ways to stay ahead of the AI curve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these five sections, users can expect to learn how to use AI to brainstorm ideas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.success.com\/google-docs-gemini-ai-integration\/\">speed up daily work tasks<\/a> and simplify research. Rather than simply viewing informational videos or articles, Google and Goodwill prioritize hands-on practice in the course, which can be completed through any generative AI platform, including ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/offer.success.com\/leadership-lab\/?utm_medium=ad-banner&#038;utm_source=website&#038;utm_campaign=leadership-lab&#038;utm_content=dts-01-v01&#038;utm_term=inline-banner-v1\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.success.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/RoS-InlineBanner_v1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Leadership Lab offer\"><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>Google\u2019s AI Essentials isn\u2019t Goodwill\u2019s first time to offer skill-development courses. Since 2017, Goodwill has offered Google\u2019s digital skills programs, helping place 400,000 Americans in well-paying jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new addition of the course is already returning promising results, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/goodwill-and-google-offer-free-ai-essentials-training-in-north-america-302517781.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">86%<\/a> of global graduates saying the AI skills they learned through the course will improve their productivity or efficiency at work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-sign-up-nbsp\"><strong>How to sign up&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To sign up for the course, participants must fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/9884d2c5656f4084923917f373a4b0f0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 Google AI Essentials training request<\/a> form. Once the form is filled out, participants will receive an email from Coursera to enroll in the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the form is submitted, participants have 30 days to complete the Google AI Essentials training. If the course isn\u2019t completed by that time, the training form may be resubmitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates from the Google AI Essentials course will receive a certificate from Google that can be shared on LinkedIn or with employers. An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/aws\/how-ai-changes-workplaces-aws-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon study<\/a> found that 73% of employers consider AI skills and experience a priority when hiring, but 75% of employers said they had issues finding candidates with the skill set they wanted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interest in AI isn\u2019t just from employers\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/aws\/how-ai-changes-workplaces-aws-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">88%<\/a> of workers expect to use AI in their daily work by 2028. With both employers and employees looking to AI as the tool of the future, it\u2019s important to start learning the ins and outs of AI.
